Duties and Responsibilities
- Processing accounts payable and receivable transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Reconciling bank statements and ensuring all discrepancies are resolved promptly.
- Preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports.
- Assisting with the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations.
- Assisting with internal and external audits.
- Responding to inquiries from vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders.
- Managing petty cash and reconciling expenses.
- Monitoring and managing credit control procedures.
- Contributing to the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
- Identifying and resolving any accounting errors or discrepancies.
- Using accounting software to manage financial data and generate reports.
- Providing support to other members of the finance team as needed.
- Managing the accounts of clients and ensuring correct and timely billing.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Account Officer or in a similar accounting role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS).
- Proficiency in using accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Knowledge of relevant accounting regulations and legislation.
- Experience with budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information.
- ACCA/CIMA part-qualified or equivalent professional qualification (desirable).
- Experience in preparing financial statements (desirable).
Salary
N200,000 - N250,000 per month.
