Job Title: Business Development Manager
Location: Somolu, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
What you will do
- Own new business acquisition for TSL by proactively finding, reaching out to, and closing hair businesses and salons who aren't already our customers, through outbound calls and in-person visits.
- This is a hunting role: you build the pipeline yourself, you don't wait for it to come to you.
Who we are looking for
- Someone who has done outbound B2B sales before (ideally to hair businesses, salons, or an adjacent trade like haircare products, salon equipment, or beauty distribution) and who's bringing real, portable relationships with salon owners and hair-business buyers, not starting from zero.
- If you've built genuine trust with buyers at a previous company, we want to see you turn that trust into TSL customers quickly.
Who this role is for:
- You are not someone who waits for a lead to land in an inbox. What sets you apart is that you go find the business yourself, whether through a call, a walk-in, or a follow-up nobody asked you to make.
- Here is the core of why this role exists. TSL needs hair businesses and salons who aren't already buying from us to become customers, and that doesn't happen passively, so someone has to find them, reach out, and close them. That's you.
- This is outbound work: cold and warm calls, in-person visits to salons and hair businesses, follow-ups, and closing. You're not managing accounts that already exist or working leads that come to you; you're building a book of business from a standing start, using relationships you already have and new ones you build.
- This is a high-trust, high-leverage individual-contributor role, not a role you grow into. You own your pipeline and your numbers from day one, and what “good” looks like in this role will largely be defined by what you actually bring in.
- This role is not for you if you need a warm lead before you'll pick up the phone, or if you've never actually closed a deal you found yourself. It is for you if you've built real relationships with salon owners or hair-business buyers before, and you're excited to bring that network somewhere new.
- Our environment is structured and performance-driven. We value Speed in execution, Teamwork in how we operate, Respect in how we communicate, Initiative in how we solve problems, Visibility in how work is tracked and communicated, and Excellence in the standard of output.
What You Need to Have
Non-negotiable:
- Demonstrated, prior experience in outbound B2B sales, ideally to hair businesses, salons, or an adjacent trade.
- A real, portable network of salon or hair-business relationships you can bring with you and convert into TSL customers quickly.
- A track record of hunting and closing new accounts yourself, not just managing an existing book.
- Comfortable with outbound calling and in-person, sometimes door-to-door, prospecting daily.
Strong advantages:
- Prior experience at a hair or beauty B2B company specifically.
- Experience selling into salons or hair businesses specifically, rather than general B2B.
- Experience with commission-heavy or new-business-focused compensation.
What You Will Own
- Build and manage your own pipeline of hair businesses and salons who aren't yet TSL customers.
- Reach out by phone and in person (cold and warm) to convert prospects into paying accounts.
- Bring and activate relationships you've already built with salon owners and hair-business buyers from previous roles.
- Own the full sales cycle: first contact, pitch, negotiation, close, and onboarding.
- Track and report your pipeline and outreach activity so progress is visible, not just results.
- Represent TSL professionally in every call and every visit.
