Rensource is a leading West African provider of renewable energy-related services, it specializes in the development and financing of solar-hybrid captive power provision which provides commercial, industrial, and utility customers, solutions that bridge the gap between desired and available power. Rensource deploys any combination of solar power and fossil-fired power, primarily gas and diesel but also including natural gas with appropriate battery storage solutions.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Design Engineer

Location: Ogun / Lagos (Hybrid)

Description

Rensource Energy is seeking an Internal Auditor to provide independent, objective assurance on internal controls, financial governance, carbon accounting accuracy, and organisational risk management.
This role operates independently of management, reporting directly to the CEO and Board — ensuring transparency, accountability, and disciplined governance across our renewable‑energy operations.

What You’ll Do

Audit AP, AR, GL, fixed assets, payroll & project accounting
Test revenue recognition for PPAs, EPC, O&M, EV charging & carbon‑linked contracts
Develop & execute a Board‑approved annual audit plan
Conduct risk‑based audits across C&I solar, BESS, hybrid systems, utility‑scale projects & EaaS
Evaluate internal controls across financial operations, procurement, inventory, treasury & carbon reporting
Oversee enterprise risk management (ERM) and assess emerging risks
Validate GHG emissions reporting (Scope 1–3) and carbon‑savings calculations
Ensure compliance with GHG Protocol, ISSB & regulatory requirements
Conduct fraud risk assessments & investigations
Review ERP, financial systems & digital monitoring tools for data integrity
Present audit findings directly to the CEO & Board; track remediation progress

What You Bring

Degree in Accounting, Finance, Audit, Risk Management or related field
CIA/ACCA/CPA/ICAN or equivalent certification + 8+ years in internal audit, external audit, risk management or assurance
Strong IFRS/GAAP knowledge & governance frameworks
Experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, utilities or project‑based industries
Exposure to carbon accounting, GHG reporting or sustainability assurance
Bonus: Experience with BESS, utility‑scale solar, EV charging, or project finance.
