Job Title: Sales Assistant (F/M)

About the Role
- MNIKS Purple is Africa’s fashion sourcing and production hub delivering trimmings, fabrics, monograms, jewelry, ready-to-wear, and tailoring/sewing supplies worldwide.
- Rapidly expanding and seeking an enthusiastic, proactive Fashion Sales Assistant to drive sales, client acquisition, and brand visibility efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Sales and Revenue Growth:
- Proactively identify and onboard new customers, clients, and partners.
- Actively sell fabrics, trimmings, tailoring materials, customization services, jewelry, and ready-to-wear pieces online and offline.
- Engage fashion designers, creators, stylists, tailors, boutiques, and sewing enthusiasts.
- Drive both in-person and online sales via storefront, pop-ups, visits, DMs, WhatsApp, and calls.
- Recommend products based on customer needs and confidently close sales.
- Meet and exceed assigned monthly sales and customer acquisition targets.
Customer Experience:
- Deliver warm, knowledgeable, and professional customer interactions.
- Build professional relationships with customers and clients to encourage repeat business.
- Maintain strong product knowledge regarding fabrics, trends, new arrivals, and core stock.
- Track and convert leads into paying customers within agreed timelines.
- Monitor customer feedback and sales insights.
Events & Activations:
- Execute pop-ups and fashion-related events, achieving event-specific sales targets.
- Actively approach passersby and convert foot traffic into sales.
- Assist with event merchandising and visual presentation.
- Distribute marketing materials and promote brand awareness.
- Support business growth through strong on-ground brand representation.
Operations & Merchandising:
- Maintain an attractive, well-organised hub floor.
- Display stock attractively and ensure all products are correctly labelled and priced.
- Monitor stock levels and report fast-moving or low inventory.
- Receive, unpack, tag, and replenish stock.
- Contribute and execute creative ideas for visual displays and merchandising.
- Work closely with teams to ensure order fulfilment and a smooth customer experience.
- Perform other related operational tasks supporting hub goals.
Performance Expectations
- Number of new customers onboarded weekly/monthly.
- Monthly sales targets achieved.
- Pop-up/event sales performance and brand representation standards.
- Customer retention and repeat purchase engagement.
- Contribution to overall hub performance and operational targets.
Requirements
- Prior experience in retail, fashion, sales, marketing, or customer service (preferably in a craft, fabric, or creative setting).
- Excellent community-building and communication skills (writing, speaking, listening).
- Strong time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills; confident and comfortable initiating conversations with new people.
- Ability to focus and multitask under pressure.
- Willingness to work at pop-ups, activations, and external events.
- Reliable, proactive, eager, and quick to learn.
- Genuine interest in fashion, textiles, or creative industries.
- Must reside in Lagos and be able to commute easily across the city.
- Flexible availability, including weekends and public holidays.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively while maintaining professional relationships.
