Senior Software Engineer (Remote)

About the Role

As a Senior Software Engineer at Canonical Ltd., you will play a key role in developing core components for MAAS (Metal as a Service). This position is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere in the EMEA region or the Philippines. You will enhance usability and performance while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely releases. Your expertise in Python, Go, and cloud technologies will be essential in shaping the architecture of our systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop MAAS core components and features to enhance usability.
• Shape the architecture of MAAS for improved performance.
• Collaborate with teams to ensure timely releases.
• Contribute to continuous integration and testing practices.
• Document features for Data Centre operators and users.
• Provide technical communication with other teams.
• Take ownership of problems and drive solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Solid track record in software development.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency in English (C1 level or higher).
• Experience with Linux and networking technologies.
• Familiarity with cloud hosting and virtualization.
• Knowledge of storage technologies and containers.
