Procurement Manager

The Procurement Manager will lead sourcing, negotiation, and contracting activities across IT, Marketing, and General Procurement categories, acting as a business partner to internal stakeholders. This role owns the end-to-end procurement activities — from market analysis and supplier selection through negotiation, contracting, and ongoing supplier relationship management — with the goal of delivering cost savings, managing risk, and ensuring reliable, high-quality suppliers to the business.

The successful candidate will combine strong commercial and negotiation skills with the ability to build credibility and influence across a range of stakeholder groups.

The ideal candidate is proactive and confident, working independently to align procurement workload with business objectives.

What excites you:

Sourcing Strategy

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for IT (hardware, software, cloud, managed services), Marketing (agencies, media, creative production, digital, events, market research), and general/indirect spend categories, aligned to business objectives.
• Conduct spend analysis, market research, and supplier landscape assessments to identify sourcing opportunities, cost-saving initiatives, and risk areas.
• Plan and lead competitive sourcing events (RFI/RFP/RFQ), tendering, and supplier evaluation and selection processes.
• Build and maintain rolling category plans that reflect business demand, budget cycles, and market developments.

Negotiation & Contracting

• Lead commercial negotiations on pricing, terms, service levels, and contractual conditions to secure best value and minimise risk.
• Partner with Legal to draft contracts and amendments, ensuring compliance with organisational policy and regulatory requirements.
• Own contract renewal timelines, ensuring proactive re-negotiation ahead of expiry and avoiding lapses in critical supply.

Stakeholder Management

• Act as a primary procurement point of contact for IT, Marketing, and other business stakeholders, translating business requirements into effective sourcing strategies.
• Partner with stakeholders to define demand, scope requirements, and align sourcing timelines with project and budget cycles.
• Provide regular updates and reports to stakeholders and leadership.
• Influence and educate stakeholders on procurement best practices, policy, and governance requirements.

Supplier Relationship Management

• Manage the end-to-end supplier lifecycle: onboarding, performance monitoring, risk management, and offboarding.
• Establish and track supplier performance metrics (SLAs, KPIs) and lead regular business reviews with key suppliers.
• Identify and resolve supplier performance issues, driving corrective action and continuous improvement plans.
• Build strong, collaborative relationships with strategic suppliers to unlock innovation and long-term value.

Governance, Risk & Reporting

• Ensure all sourcing and contracting activity complies with procurement policy, financial controls, and legal/regulatory standards.
• Maintain accurate records of contracts, spend, and savings within procurement systems.
• Report on workload performance, savings delivery, and risk exposure to procurement leadership.
• Support audits and due diligence related to supplier risk, data security, and compliance (particularly relevant for IT and data-related categories).

What excites us:

• 5+ years of procurement lifecycle experience, ideally with exposure to IT and Marketing categories.
• Demonstrated experience leading end-to-end sourcing events and negotiating complex commercial contracts.
• Strong understanding of IT categories (software licensing, cloud/SaaS, hardware, telecom) and/or Marketing categories (agency, media, digital, production).
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to engage confidently with senior leaders.
• Strong analytical skills, with experience in spend analysis, market research, and savings tracking.
• Solid understanding of contract law fundamentals and commercial terms (SLAs, KPIs, liability, IP, data protection clauses).
• Proficiency with procurement/e-sourcing systems (e.g., Coupa, Netsuite, Omnea, Zip) and Microsoft Excel.
• A can-do attitude and a curiosity to question, challenge, and improve working practices
• Professional certification (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) preferred but not essential.

Base salary range: £60,800 - £91,200

Base salary ranges are based on role, job level, location, and market data. Please note that whilst we strive to offer competitive compensation, our approach is to pay between the minimum and the mid-point of the pay range until performance can be assessed in role. Offers will take into account level of experience, interview assessment, budgets and parity between you and fellow employees at GoCardless doing similar work.
