About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Junior Commis Chef to join our culinary team in Dubai. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for food and a desire to grow in a dynamic kitchen environment. As a Junior Commis Chef, you will assist in food preparation and ensure that our kitchen operates smoothly. You will have the opportunity to learn from experienced chefs and contribute to our commitment to high-quality food production.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare inventory lists for your station to ensure all ingredients are available.
  • Fill in for absent chefs to maintain kitchen operations.
  • Follow standard recipes and plating guides to ensure consistency.
  • Provide a daily market list to the Executive Sous Chef for ordering supplies.
  • Control the quality and quantity of goods received to maintain standards.
  • Assist in special food promotions and events to enhance guest experiences.
  • Communicate effectively with Outlet Supervisors to coordinate service.
  • Control food wastage to optimize kitchen resources.

Requirements

  • Hold a diploma or degree in vocational hospitality to demonstrate foundational knowledge.
  • Have 1-2 years of experience in a 4-5 star hotel to ensure familiarity with high standards.
  • Demonstrate full compliance with HACCP standards to maintain food safety.
  • Possess strong communication skills to work effectively within a team.
  • Show a willingness to learn and adapt to busy kitchen demands.

Statutory benefits (UAE)

  • Wage Protection System (WPS)

    Current-month wages must be paid via WPS no later than the 1st of the following Gregorian month. Establishments must transfer ≥85% of total wages by the deadline (Ministerial Resolution 340/2026).

  • End-of-Service Gratuity (EOSB)

    21 days of basic salary per year for the first 5 years; 30 days per year thereafter. Allowances are excluded from the calculation.

  • Annual leave

    Minimum 30 calendar days per year after the first year of service (2 days per month between 6 and 12 months).

  • Sick leave

    Up to 90 days per year on a structured paid/unpaid schedule once probation completes.

  • Health insurance

    Mandatory employer-provided coverage in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
