About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated WHS Officer to join our team on-site in Dubai. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring workplace health and safety standards are met across all site activities. Your expertise will help promote a culture of safety among employees and ensure compliance with local regulations. This position does not offer remote work options.

As a WHS Officer, you will lead risk assessments and develop training programs tailored to our site’s specific needs. Your ability to analyze data will be crucial in identifying potential hazards and implementing effective safety measures. Responsibilities

  • Lead site risk assessments for current and new activities to identify potential hazards.
  • Establish and maintain a site WHS training matrix to ensure all employees are trained.
  • Implement site-specific WHS standards and guidelines to enhance safety protocols.
  • Promote a culture of safety among employees through regular communication and training.
  • Conduct frequent site safety audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Guide area managers on incident investigations to improve safety practices.
  • Ensure the availability and proper inventory of personal protective equipment (PPE) at the site.
  • Prepare and update emergency response plans to address potential incidents.
  • Conduct daily and weekly WHS audits to monitor compliance and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in electrical, mechanical, or electronics engineering.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively convey safety protocols.
  • Ability to analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is preferred.
  • Fluency in English; Arabic language skills are a plus.
  • Knowledge of local health and safety regulations in the UAE.

Statutory benefits (UAE)

  • Wage Protection System (WPS)

    Current-month wages must be paid via WPS no later than the 1st of the following Gregorian month. Establishments must transfer ≥85% of total wages by the deadline (Ministerial Resolution 340/2026).

  • End-of-Service Gratuity (EOSB)

    21 days of basic salary per year for the first 5 years; 30 days per year thereafter. Allowances are excluded from the calculation.

  • Annual leave

    Minimum 30 calendar days per year after the first year of service (2 days per month between 6 and 12 months).

  • Sick leave

    Up to 90 days per year on a structured paid/unpaid schedule once probation completes.

  • Health insurance

    Mandatory employer-provided coverage in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
