Job Summary
- The Account Officer – Waybill is responsible for managing, recording, reconciling, and monitoring all financial transactions relating to waybills.
- The role ensures that waybill collections, Dispatch payments, and related financial records are accurate, properly documented, and accounted for.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, record, and maintain accurate waybill financial records.
- Verify waybills to ensure that transportation charges, customer details, destination, and other relevant information are correct.
- Record daily waybill transactions into the accounting system or appropriate records.
- Ensure that all waybill-related income is properly captured and accounted for.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between waybills, receipts, collections, and accounting records.
- Maintain proper filing and documentation of waybills, receipts, invoices, and payment records.
- Work with the Operations and Dispatch teams to confirm completed deliveries.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Accuracy of waybill financial records.
- Timely reconciliation of waybill collections.
- Reduction in outstanding customer balances.
- Accuracy and timeliness of daily/monthly reports.
- Proper documentation and filing of waybill transactions.
- Quick identification and resolution of financial discrepancies.
- Compliance with company accounting policies and procedures.
Requirements and Qualifications
- B.Sc. or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a transport, logistics, courier, or haulage company.
- Good knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial controls.
- Experience handling waybills, receipts, collections, or transport-related financial records is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
