Business Development Manager

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time

The Role

• The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new business, growing strategic accounts and expanding the company's footprint across the Port Harcourt market.
• This is not a purely retail sales role.
• We are looking for someone with proven B2B business development and solution-selling experience, ideally within power, energy, electrical equipment, solar, industrial equipment, telecoms or other technical products.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute business development strategies for the Port Harcourt territory.
• Identify, prospect and convert new B2B and corporate customers.
• Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers across target industries.
• Develop opportunities within industrial, commercial, corporate and institutional accounts.
• Generate and manage a healthy sales pipeline from prospecting through negotiation and closure.
• Prepare commercial proposals, quotations and presentations for prospective clients.
• Understand customer power/energy requirements and work with technical teams to recommend appropriate solutions.
• Manage key accounts and identify opportunities for cross-selling and repeat business.
• Develop partnerships with dealers, distributors, contractors, consultants and other relevant market stakeholders.
• Negotiate commercial terms and close high-value business opportunities.
• Achieve agreed monthly, quarterly and annual revenue targets.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, Economics or a related field.
• 8+ years of proven B2B sales/business development experience.
• Demonstrated track record of achieving sales or revenue targets.
• Strong experience in corporate/enterprise sales and business development.
• Experience selling power solutions, solar/renewable-energy solutions is non-negotiable.
• Strong prospecting, negotiation and closing skills.
• Experience managing key accounts and developing strategic business relationships.
• Ability to engage confidently with senior decision-makers.
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of the Port Harcourt/South-South market.
• Willingness to travel for customer meetings and business development activities.
