Job Title: Christian Religious Studies (CRS) Teacher

The Role
- You will teach Christian Religious Studies to junior and/or senior secondary school students, delivering lessons that are engaging, scripturally grounded, and aligned with the NERDC curriculum.
- You will play a key role in nurturing the spiritual, moral, and personal development of students, helping them understand Christian values, biblical teachings, and their relevance to everyday life.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality CRS lessons at the junior and/or senior secondary school level in line with the NERDC curriculum.
- Set, mark, and return assignments, tests, and examination papers promptly with constructive feedback.
- Prepare students thoroughly for WAEC and NECO CRS examinations.
- Maintain accurate records including attendance registers, lesson notes, and continuous assessment scores.
- Monitor individual student progress and provide appropriate academic and pastoral support.
- Develop and contribute to scheme of work, lesson plans, and departmental resources.
- Uphold and promote the school's faith-based values and ethos.
- Participate in staff meetings, school events, and parent-teacher meetings.
- Foster a respectful, orderly, and spiritually enriching classroom environment.
Requirements
Essential:
- Minimum of NCE (Nigeria Certificate in Education) in Christian Religious Studies or Christian Religious Knowledge (CRK).
- Bachelor's degree (B.Ed. or B.A.) in Religious Studies, Christian Religious Education, or a related field is preferred.
- NYSC Discharge Certificate or Exemption Certificate for degree holders.
- Strong working knowledge of the NERDC CRS curriculum for secondary schools.
- Minimum of 2 years' proven teaching experience in CRS at the secondary school level.
- Sound CRS subject knowledge and strong communication skills.
- Ability to produce detailed, structured lesson notes.
Preferred / Advantageous:
- PGDE (Postgraduate Diploma in Education) or equivalent professional teaching qualification.
- Demonstrable experience preparing students for WAEC/NECO CRS examinations.
- A personal commitment to Christian faith and values.
