• Master’s degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, Biostatistics, or a related discipline (PhD is an advantage)
• Minimum of 3–5 years of post-qualification experience in epidemiology or disease surveillance
• Demonstrated experience in outbreak investigation and public health emergency response
• Strong competencies in data management, statistical analysis, and proficiency with epidemiological tools
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a background in technical report writing
• Ability to thrive under pressure and collaborate in multi-disciplinary teams
• Willingness to travel and deploy to field locations at short notice
• Familiarity with the Nigerian public health system and the landscape of infectious diseases
• Preferred Skills
• Experience with Integrated Disease Surveillance and Response (IDSR)
• Prior engagement with NCDC, WHO, or comparable public health organizations
• Publication history in peer-reviewed journals
• Proficiency in GIS mapping and digital surveillance technologies

• Design, implement, and evaluate disease surveillance systems at both national and sub-national levels.
• Lead or support comprehensive outbreak investigations, effective contact tracing, and rapid public health response activities.
• Analyze epidemiological data using advanced statistical software tools such as Epi Info, R, Stata, and SPSS.
• Prepare timely and detailed surveillance reports, situation updates, and scientific publications.
• Provide technical assistance to State Epidemiologists and Local Government Area teams in enhancing public health initiatives.
• Develop and deliver training programs focused on epidemiology, surveillance techniques, and outbreak response methodologies.
• Collaborate with key partners, including WHO, CDC, UNICEF, and State Ministries of Health, to strengthen disease prevention efforts.
