Head of Sales

Job Summary

• Jobtion Consulting is supporting a fast-growing organisation in the food and beverage distribution sector to recruit an experienced Head of Sales.
• This is a strategic commercial leadership role for an ambitious commercial builder who can translate business ambitions into revenue growth, stronger distribution, market penetration and profitable commercial performance.
• The successful candidate will work closely with the CEO/MD and Commercial Director, leading the sales function across channels and territories while building the strategy, systems, team and commercial discipline required to scale the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the company's sales and commercial growth strategy.
• Own sales volume, revenue, distribution and market penetration targets.
• Develop growth plans across territories, channels, products, customers and distributors.
• Build a data-driven sales function using commercial dashboards, KPIs and performance insights.
• Lead, coach and develop a high-performing sales team.
• Drive route-to-market and distribution expansion across priority channels.
• Build and strengthen distributor, key account and customer relationships.
• Partner with Finance and leadership on revenue, margin, cash flow and commercial profitability.
• Establish robust sales forecasting, planning and performance management systems.
• Provide market intelligence and actionable commercial recommendations to senior leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Finance or a related discipline.
• 8–12+ years of progressive sales/commercial experience.
• At least 5 years in a senior sales or commercial leadership role.
• MBA or relevant professional qualification is an advantage.
• Strong FMCG, beverage, wine, spirits, food distribution or related sector experience.
• Proven experience managing multi-territory sales operations.
• Demonstrable track record of growing revenue, market share and distribution.
• Experience working with distributors, wholesalers, key accounts, modern trade and/or on-trade channels.
• Strong commercial intelligence, analytical ability and leadership capability.

Salary
N1,000,000 – N1,500,000 gross monthly.
