About the Role

• We are seeking a hands-on and commercially minded Human Resources Manager to lead day-to-day HR operations, with strong ownership of performance management, employee engagement, talent development and HR processes.
• The ideal candidate is not simply an HR administrator but a people-performance professional who can translate business objectives into measurable employee expectations, track performance, address gaps and drive accountability across teams.

Key Responsibilities
Performance Management:

• Design, implement and continuously improve the company's performance management system.
• Develop clear KPIs, KRAs and performance targets in collaboration with department heads.
• Coordinate monthly, quarterly and annual performance reviews.
• Track individual and departmental performance against agreed targets.
• Identify performance gaps and work with managers to develop Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) where necessary.
• Maintain performance records and provide management with actionable performance reports.
• Support managers in handling underperformance, goal-setting, feedback and employee accountability.
• Ensure performance outcomes inform promotions, rewards, training and other people decisions.

HR Operations:

• Manage the full employee lifecycle from onboarding to exit.
• Maintain accurate employee records, HR documentation and personnel files.
• Ensure effective implementation of company policies, procedures and employee guidelines.
• Handle employee relations matters professionally and confidentially.
• Monitor attendance, punctuality, leave and general workforce discipline.
• Support payroll preparation by providing accurate employee and attendance information.
• Ensure compliance with applicable Nigerian employment regulations and company policies.

Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning:

• Manage recruitment processes from job profiling and sourcing through interviews, selection and onboarding.
• Work with managers to identify manpower requirements and define suitable candidate profiles.
• Develop structured interview and assessment processes.
• Monitor recruitment effectiveness, employee retention and hiring quality.

Administration:

• Oversee the day-to-day administrative operations of the organisation.
• Develop and maintain efficient administrative systems, procedures and workflows.
• Manage office facilities, supplies, equipment, utilities and general workplace requirements.
• Coordinate office vendors, service providers and maintenance activities.
• Monitor administrative expenses and support effective cost control.
• Ensure proper documentation, filing and retrieval of company records.
• Coordinate meetings, internal events, official correspondence and general office logistics.
• Establish and enforce administrative standards across departments.
• Ensure the workplace remains organised, functional, professional and conducive to productivity.
• Liaise with external service providers, government agencies and other relevant stakeholders where required.
• Identify administrative inefficiencies and implement practical solutions

Learning & Development:

• Identify training needs through performance reviews, competency gaps and business requirements.
• Coordinate employee training, development and induction programmes.
• Track the effectiveness and business impact of training interventions.

Employee Engagement & Culture:

• Develop initiatives that improve employee engagement, productivity and retention.
• Establish effective channels for employee feedback.
• Support management in resolving workplace concerns and maintaining a productive work environment.
• Promote a culture of accountability, professionalism and continuous improvement.

What We Are Looking For

• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, Management or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years of hands-on HR experience, preferably in a fast-paced or performance-driven organisation with at least 1 yearin supervisory capacity.
• Strong practical experience in Performance Management, KPI/KRA development and employee evaluation.
• Demonstrable experience managing employee performance issues and implementing PIPs.
• Strong knowledge of recruitment, employee relations, HR operations and HR documentation.
• Excellent knowledge of Google Workspace and HR productivity tools.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to turn people data into useful management insights.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills.
• Strong understanding of Nigerian employment practices and workplace regulations.
• Professional HR certification such as CIPM, SHRM or equivalent is an advantage.
