Job Title: Logistics Analyst
Location: Ndola Cement, Zambia
Responsibilities
- Responsible for analysing, optimising, and managing third party transport operations to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret logistics and supply chain data to support business decisions
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track logistics performance and trends.
- Assist in weekly and monthly forecasting demand and planning inventory levels to optimize stock availability.
- Identify inefficiencies in transportation, warehousing, and inventory management, proposing actionable solutions.
- Assist the Head of Logistics in enhancing operational efficiency, reducing costs, and ensuring timely delivery of goods to and from plant by third party transporters.
- Vendor and Carrier Coordination: Assist in contract negotiations, manage
- relationships with suppliers, carriers, and third-party logistics providers, and resolve operational disruptions.
- Own Daily, Weekly and Monthly Performance Measurement & Reporting at departmental and Business Unit Level.
- Third Party Transporters: Own Customer & Segment Analysis to inform strategic and tactical interventions.
- Develop & implement a robust Data Strategy including automation and modelling
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in cross-functional projects.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent in Business, Economics, Statistics or a related discipline.
- Full Grade 12 School Certificate
- Proficiency Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint & MySQL or PowerBI
- Minimum of four (4) years relevant work experience.
- Basic understanding of trends, challenges, opportunities, regulations and legislation relating to the cement manufacturing industry.
- Good knowledge of DCP’s product and service offerings.
- Strong administration skills – organised, thorough, and able to effectively leverage technology with attention to detail
- Very good communication skills.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work well within a team.
- Proficiency in the use of MS Office
