Job Title: Logistics Supervisor
Location: Ndola Cement, Zambia
Responsibilities
- To oversee daily warehouse and freight operations and coordination of Logistics activities to achieve best value for money in accordance with laid down procedures across distribution activities.
- Responsible for managing and overseeing all documentation related to the export of cement.
- This includes preparing shipping documents, customs paperwork, export/import documentation, and other relevant paperwork specific to these countries.
- In charge of handling all the documentation associated with clinker, a key component in cement production. This involves ensuring accurate and timely documentation for the transportation, import/export, and any other relevant processes related to clinker.
- Responsible for execution of strategies of inbound and out bound routing plans and dynamic load planning using company assets and third party common carriers.
- Responsible for facilitating the process of taking all SADC (Southern African Development Community) documents to the clearing agent.
- Resolve issues with carriers, internal department and customers to ensure speedy resolution of operational matters
- Support other functions that work closely with the department such Sales scheduling, Procurement, Production materials requirements and Transport.
- Monitor product import or export processes to ensure compliance with regulatory or legal requirements resolving customer issues aligned with any service failures that may arise.
- Preparation of GIT (Goods in Transit) report.
- Participate in scheduled operational meetings as needed to stay abreast of company requirements and opportunities in the logistics industry.
- Generating the stock aging report.
- Manage the reconciliations of all inbound and out bound materials, physical stocks with the ERP and present daily/monthly reports.
- Oversee the maintenance metrics and analysis of logistics data to assess performance and implement improvements.
- Manage weighbridge operations.
- Supervise, coach and train Logistics staff..
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Education and Work Experience
- Grade 12 School Certificate
- Must have a Degree / Diploma in Transport and Logistics
- Professional Membership.
- Have not less than 8 years relevant experience
- Good interpersonal skills
