Job Title: Primary 2 Class Teacher

Location: Benin City, Edo

About the Role

• We are seeking a passionate, creative, and highly motivated Primary 2 Class Teacher with a strong knowledge of Mathematics to join our academic team.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons across the Primary 2 curriculum while ensuring pupils develop a solid foundation in numeracy, problem-solving, and critical thinking.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in accordance with the school's curriculum.
• Teach all Primary 2 subjects, with particular emphasis on Mathematics.
• Develop engaging and interactive mathematics lessons that build pupils' confidence and competence.
• Assess pupils' academic progress through classwork, assignments, tests, and examinations.
• Identify pupils requiring additional support in Mathematics and implement appropriate intervention strategies.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
• Maintain effective classroom management and promote positive behaviour.
• Prepare lesson plans, teaching aids, and instructional materials.
• Keep accurate records of attendance, assessments, and pupils' progress.
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding pupils' academic performance and development.
• Participate in school meetings, professional development programmes, and extracurricular activities.
• Perform other duties assigned by the school management.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of NCE, B.Ed., B.Sc./B.A., or an equivalent qualification in Education or a related field.
• At least 2 years of teaching experience in a primary school (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of the Nigerian Primary School Curriculum.
• Demonstrated competence in teaching Primary Mathematics.
• Experience preparing pupils for internal and external assessments is an added advantage.

• Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to simplify mathematical concepts for young learners.
• Creativity in lesson planning and instructional delivery.
