About the Role

As a Founding Senior Customer Engineer at Tailscale, you will play a crucial role in establishing our customer engineering presence in Singapore and the APAC region. This remote position offers the flexibility to work from home while tackling complex networking challenges for our customers. You will lead a small team, ensuring they are equipped to provide top-notch support and guidance. Your expertise in networking fundamentals and security concepts will be essential as you help shape our customer experience.

Responsibilities

Establish customer engineering presence in Singapore and APAC.
Solve complex networking problems for customers.
Manage day-to-day support operations for a team of 1-3 Support Engineers.
Lead hiring, onboarding, and mentoring for direct reports.
Oversee regional support queue and ensure SLA/SLO adherence.
Act as an internal escalation point for technical issues and customer situations.
Analyze support data and customer feedback to surface insights.
Refine support workflows and internal tooling.

Requirements

6+ years of experience in a technical support role within a SaaS environment.
Experience leading through technical expertise and coaching.
Proven experience building teams or establishing operational processes.
Strong technical background in networking fundamentals.
Proficiency with networking and security concepts.
Previous experience in supporting customers across various OS's.
Data-driven mindset with ability to track and act on metrics.
Excellent communication skills for translating technical concepts.
