About the Role

We are seeking a Junior Commis Chef to join our culinary team on-site at Al Saadiyat Island, Abu Dhabi. Responsibilities

  • Fill in for absent chefs at different stations to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
  • Ensure adherence to standard recipes and plating guides for consistent food quality.
  • Provide a daily market list to the Executive Sous Chef to maintain inventory.
  • Control the quality and quantity of received goods to meet kitchen standards.
  • Assist in proposing food promotions and events to enhance customer experience.
  • Maintain excellent talks with Outlet Supervisors for effective teamwork.
  • Control food wastage to optimize kitchen resources.
  • Recommend system changes for efficiency improvements in kitchen operations.
  • Maintain operational records and paperwork for compliance and tracking.
  • Attend training classes as scheduled to enhance culinary skills.
  • Maintain proper grooming standards to reflect professionalism.

Statutory benefits (UAE)

  • Wage Protection System (WPS)

    Current-month wages must be paid via WPS no later than the 1st of the following Gregorian month. Establishments must transfer ≥85% of total wages by the deadline (Ministerial Resolution 340/2026).

  • End-of-Service Gratuity (EOSB)

    21 days of basic salary per year for the first 5 years; 30 days per year thereafter. Allowances are excluded from the calculation.

  • Annual leave

    Minimum 30 calendar days per year after the first year of service (2 days per month between 6 and 12 months).

  • Sick leave

    Up to 90 days per year on a structured paid/unpaid schedule once probation completes.

  • Health insurance

    Mandatory employer-provided coverage in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
