Job Summary
- We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to oversee the company's financial records, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and provide accurate financial reporting.
- The ideal candidate will have experience in inventory accounting, cost management, and financial operations within a warehousing, logistics, FMCG, or distribution environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Reconcile bank statements, supplier accounts, and customer accounts.
- Process invoices, payments, and receipts promptly.
- Monitor inventory valuation and reconcile inventory records with warehouse stock reports.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Ensure timely remittance of taxes, pensions, and other statutory obligations.
- Maintain the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules.
- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
- Monitor operating expenses and recommend cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations.
- Collaborate with the warehouse and operations teams to ensure accurate stock and financial records.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in accounting, preferably within a warehousing, logistics, manufacturing, or distribution company.
- Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, or ACA) is an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Odoo, SAP, or similar ERP systems).
- Experience with inventory accounting and stock reconciliation.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
