Job Purpose
- The Business Development Executive - Drill Bit is responsible for driving sales and business growth for the company’s drill bit products and drilling solutions. The role identifies new business opportunities, develops and manages client relationships, supports tendering and commercial negotiations, and works closely with technical teams to provide fit-for-purpose drilling solutions thatmeet client requirements.
- The position focuses on increasing market share by promoting the company’s drill bit technologies and services to International Oil Companies (IOCs), indigenous operators, drilling contractors, and other upstream oil and gas clients while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development:
- Identify and pursue new sales opportunities for drill bits and related drilling solutions.
- Develop and implement account plans to achieve sales and revenue targets.
- Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline.
- Conduct market mapping to identify prospective clients and projects.
Client Relationship Management:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with drilling engineers, drilling managers, procurement teams, and technical decision-makers.
- Conduct regular client visits to understand operational needs.
- Provide excellent after-sales support to strengthen customer relationships.
- Manage strategic customer accounts and ensure repeat business.
Technical Sales Support:
- Promote the company’s drill bit technologies and value propositions.
- Work closely with technical specialists to recommend suitable drill bit solutions based on formation characteristics and drilling objectives.
- Coordinate product demonstrations, technical presentations, and client workshops.
- Liaise with operations and engineering teams to ensure successful product deployment.
Tender and Proposal Management:
- Monitor Requests for Information (RFIs), Requests for Quotations (RFQs), Invitations to ender (ITTs), and Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
- Coordinate preparation of technical and commercial proposals.
- Ensure timely submission of bids.
- Support commercial negotiations and contract clarifications.
Sales Performance:
- Achieve assigned monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Prepare sales forecasts and pipeline reports.
- Track revenue performance and business opportunities using CRM tools.
- Ensure timely follow-up on quotations and commercial proposals.
Cross Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with Technical & Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and Legal teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Coordinate with logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of drill bits and related equipment.
- Support contract execution and customer onboarding activities.
Compliance:
- Ensure all business development activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical business practices
- Adhere to Nigerian Content Development requirements and applicable upstream oil and gas
Cross Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with Technical & Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and Legal teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Coordinate with logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of drill bits and related equipment.
- Support contract execution and customer onboarding activities.
Compliance:
- Ensure all business development activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical business practices.
- Adhere to Nigerian Content Development requirements and applicable upstream oil and gas regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Marketing or related disciplines
- Membership of relevant professional bodies is desirable.
Experience:
- 3–5 years’ experience in business development, technical sales, or client management within the upstream oil and gas industry.
- Experience marketing drilling tools, drill bits, drilling fluids, directional drilling services, or other drilling technologies is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience dealing with IOCs, indigenous operators, and drilling contractors.
