Job Title: Business Development Manager
Location: Lagos
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities with merchants, banks, and fintech partners.
- Develop and execute strategic account plans to grow revenue across key market segments.
- Build and maintain relationships with financial institutions, PSSPs/PSPs, and corporate clients.
- Represent GlobalPay and Terraswitch at industry events, partner meetings, and regulatory forums.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to tailor solutions to partner and merchant needs.
- Track market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments to inform growth strategy.
- Prepare proposals, commercial terms, and partnership agreements in coordination with Legal.
- Report on pipeline, revenue targets, and partnership performance to executive management.
Collaboration & Work Practices:
- Work closely with Product and Engineering to scope partner integrations.
- Coordinate with Legal and Compliance on partnership and merchant agreements.
- Partner with Marketing on go-to-market campaigns and lead generation.
- Report directly to executive leadership on growth targets and pipeline health.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or related field; MBA is an advantage.
- 5-8 years of business development or sales experience, preferably in fintech, banking, or payments.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue and partnership targets.
- Strong network within Nigeria's financial services and fintech ecosystem is highly desirable.
Required Skills & Technologies:
- Sales & Partnerships: B2B sales, negotiation, and relationship management
- Industry Knowledge: Nigerian payments, switching, and financial services landscape
- Tools: CRM platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce), MS Office/Excel
- Communication: Strong presentation and proposal-writing skills
- Strategic Thinking: Market analysis and commercial deal structuring
