Job Summary
- We are seeking a skilled and dependable Electrical Technician with strong hands-on experience in the installation, servicing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of diesel generators and associated electrical systems.
- The successful candidate will provide technical support to customers, respond to equipment breakdowns, and ensure generator systems operate safely and reliably.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out installation, servicing, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of diesel generators.
- Diagnose and rectify electrical faults in generator control systems, panels, alternators, wiring, and related components.
- Perform testing and commissioning of generator sets and associated electrical systems.
- Conduct routine inspections and identify potential electrical or equipment faults.
- Respond promptly to breakdowns and provide effective technical solutions.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Prepare service reports and maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
- Provide technical support at customer sites and ensure professional customer service.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with HSE requirements, manufacturer specifications, and company procedures.
Requirements
- HND or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related technical field.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in generator servicing, electrical maintenance, field service, or a related technical role.
- Strong hands-on experience with diesel generators and electrical systems.
- Good knowledge of generator control systems, alternators, electrical panels, controllers, and protection systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and respond effectively to equipment breakdowns.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Willingness to travel to customer locations when required.
- Must be able to drive a manual vehicle.
- A valid driver's licence is required.
