​About the Role

• ​We are looking for a sharp, commercially minded Head of Business Development to lead our growth and sales operations across theRegion.
• In this executive role, you’ll take full ownership of our regional strategy, open doors with major manufacturing plants, and lead a dedicated team of sales professionals to hit ambitious revenue goals.
• ​If you know the Northern manufacturing landscape inside out, excel at negotiating large-scale raw material supply deals, and enjoy leading teams in the field, we want to talk to you.

​What You’ll Do

• ​Build and execute a clear 3-to-5-year commercial plan for the Northern territory to hit revenue and profitability targets.
• ​Identify and map out major factories, industrial food processors, beverage plants, and cosmetic manufacturers across Northern commercial hubs.
• ​Expand our supply footprint across key sectors like baking, dairy, beverages, cosmetics, and industrial manufacturing.
• ​Lead high-level sales pitches, contract negotiations, and long-term supply agreements with factory owners, procurement managers, and technical heads.
• ​Build deep, long-term relationships with top-tier industrial clients to ensure repeat bulk orders and steady account growth.
• ​Stay sharp on market trends, raw material pricing, and exchange rate impacts to structure profitable deals.
• ​Lead, coach, and mentor our regional sales team, setting clear quotas and providing the support they need to hit their targets.
• ​Go into the field with sales executives for key client meetings and technical presentations.
• ​Run regular performance reviews and sales training sessions to keep the team sharp.
• ​Work closely with our technical lab and warehouse teams to ensure our raw materials meet client specifications and delivery timelines.
• ​Keep an eye on competitor moves, price shifts, and industry trends across the region.
• ​Represent Greengates Specialties Limited at key trade shows, industry expos, and manufacturing forums.

​What We’re Looking For

• At least 8 years of B2B commercial experience, with 3-5+ years in a senior leadership role in chemical raw materials, food ingredients, FMCG, or industrial manufacturing sales.
• Proven track record of selling raw material inputs, flavours, fragrances, or specialty chemicals directly to manufacturing plants.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial modeling and sales forecasting, along with comfort using inventory / ERP tools (like Odoo or SAP).
• Valid driver's license and full comfort traveling across Nigeria commercial hubs.
• Strong negotiation skills, executive presence, and a genuine, relatable approach to managing people and building networks.
