First Ally Capital Limited is seeking a Legal and Compliance Officer to lead its regulatory compliance and legal advisory efforts.

This role involves ensuring the company adheres to capital market regulations and fund management laws. The ideal candidate will be a SEC-Sponsored Individual with extensive experience in fund management compliance. The position is based in Lagos and requires a proactive professional capable of managing compliance frameworks, regulatory filings, and liaising with regulatory bodies. The officer will also provide legal support across the organization and promote a culture of compliance through training and policy management.

Requirements

Must be a SEC-Sponsored Individual (Compliance Officer).
7-9 years of experience in compliance within the fund management sector.
Strong knowledge of SEC rules, AML/CFT/CPF regulations, and Nigerian capital market laws.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and legal research skills.
Strong written and verbal communication with relationship management abilities.
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
High level of integrity, professionalism, and ability to work independently.
Collaborative team player focused on achieving collective goals.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain compliance frameworks aligned with SEC and other regulatory standards.
Manage preparation and timely submission of all regulatory filings.
Identify and mitigate compliance risks through strategic solutions.
Act as primary liaison with regulatory authorities including SEC and Financial Reporting Council.
Provide legal advisory to ensure compliance with fund management agreements and client mandates.
Conduct internal compliance training to enhance awareness and accountability.
Draft, review, and update compliance policies such as Compliance Manual and AML policies.
Monitor regulatory changes and advise on their impact to company operations.
