Job Summary
- We are seeking an experienced QA / QC Engineer to oversee quality management for major warehouse and industrial site development projects.
- You will be responsible for implementing quality control systems, enforcing safety and building standards, performing field inspections, and ensuring that all materials, fabrication, concrete works, steel structures, and MEP installations comply with contract specifications, engineering drawings, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality System Implementation: Develop, maintain, and execute the site Quality Management System (QMS), Project Quality Plan (PQP), and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) tailored to warehouse construction requirements.
- Structural & Civil Inspections: Inspect subgrade preparation, foundation casting, heavy-duty floor slab pours (including floor flatness/levelness FM/FF standards), tilt-up/precast panels, and structural steel erection.
- MEP & Building Envelope Oversight: Conduct quality checks on roof cladding, insulation, waterproofing, fire suppression systems, high-bay lighting, and HVAC installations specific to warehouse facilities.
- Material & Equipment Verification: Inspect incoming raw materials, structural steel components, concrete mixes, and pre-fabricated elements upon arrival to verify conformance with technical submittals, testing certifications, and approved vendor lists.
- Audits & Non-Conformance Management: Identify site defects and quality deviations; issue and log Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs). Work with site superintendents and subcontractors to determine root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Testing & Documentation Management: Coordinate on-site and third-party laboratory testing (e.g., concrete slump/compressive strength, steel weld testing/NDT, soil compaction). Maintain precise QA/QC records, inspection sign-offs, as-built documentation, and handover packages.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Consultants, Client Representatives, and Subcontractors to ensure smooth inspection sign-offs and prevent project delays.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 5–8 years of direct QA/QC engineering experience on construction sites, with a proven track record on high-bay, large-scale industrial or warehouse construction projects.
- Technical Expertise: Deep technical knowledge of industrial concrete slab specifications (FF/FL requirements), structural steel fabrication/welding standards (AWS/BS/Eurocodes), roofing systems, and industrial MEP layouts.
- Software Competency: Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and construction management/QAQC software (e.g., Procore, BIM 360, or Fieldwire).
- Key Traits: Exceptional attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and authoritative communication abilities to enforce quality protocols on site.
Salary
N300,000 - N350,000 monthly.
