Sales Team Lead

Job Summary

• We are seeking an experienced Sales Team Lead to lead, coach, and supervise our sales team in driving loan sales, customer acquisition, portfolio growth, and revenue performance.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and monitoring team targets, Coaching Sales Officers, supporting customer acquisition, overseeing the loan application process, and ensuring the team consistently achieves its sales and portfolio objectives.
• The ideal candidate should have strong leadership, communication, sales, and people-management skills, with proven experience in financial services, lending, or consumer finance.

The Key Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and motivate the sales team to achieve individual and team targets.
• Coach and mentor team members to improve sales performance, productivity, and professional development.
• Drive the marketing and sales of the company's loan products to prospective customers.
• Identify new business opportunities and support customer acquisition and portfolio growth.
• Monitor individual and team sales performance and implement strategies to improve results.
• Ensure loan applications and documentation are properly completed and followed through to disbursement.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
• Monitor sales activities, pipeline, conversion rates, and portfolio performance.
• Ensure the team achieves sales volumes and targets profitably.
• Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities, and provide recommendations to management.
• Organize regular team meetings, performance reviews, and sales activities.
• Identify performance gaps and provide appropriate coaching and corrective support.
• Prepare and submit accurate daily, weekly, and monthly sales and activity reports.
• Collaborate with Credit, Recovery, Operations, and other departments to ensure smooth loan processing and customer service.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable lending standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree (B.Sc.) in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Must have completed NYSC.
• A Minimum of 4 years' relevant experience in sales, team leadership, or business development within the financial services, banking, microfinance, fintech, or lending sector is mandatory.
• Proven experience managing and leading a sales team.
• Proven track record of consistently achieving or exceeding sales targets.
• Experience in loan sales, consumer lending, microfinance, or financial services is highly preferred.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and people-management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong negotiation, persuasion, and customer relationship management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work independently and effectively in a target-driven environment.
• High level of integrity, accountability, and professionalism.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: N200,000 - N250,000 monthly
• Transport allowance.
• Airtime allowance.
• Commission on product value sold.
• 20% basic salary increase upon achieving the assigned target for two consecutive months.
• Other benefits as determined by management.
