About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Urban Specialist to join our team remotely from Dubai. In this role, you will lead initiatives that shape urban policies and practices. You will work closely with various stakeholders to drive collaboration and influence urban agendas. Your expertise in urban planning and international development will be crucial in addressing urban challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Cities Alliance Informality Task Force to promote urban development.
  • Drive global collaboration and policy talks among diverse stakeholders.
  • Develop partnerships to influence urban agendas effectively.
  • Manage contributions from task force members to ensure alignment.
  • Identify funding opportunities and prepare project proposals for initiatives.
  • Engage stakeholders in advocacy efforts to support urban policies.

Requirements

  • Hold an advanced university degree in a relevant field.
  • Have at least 7 years of relevant experience in urban studies.
  • Demonstrate experience in managing multi-stakeholder processes.
  • Possess knowledge of global stakeholder engagement processes.

Statutory benefits (UAE)

  • Wage Protection System (WPS)

    Current-month wages must be paid via WPS no later than the 1st of the following Gregorian month. Establishments must transfer ≥85% of total wages by the deadline (Ministerial Resolution 340/2026).

  • End-of-Service Gratuity (EOSB)

    21 days of basic salary per year for the first 5 years; 30 days per year thereafter. Allowances are excluded from the calculation.

  • Annual leave

    Minimum 30 calendar days per year after the first year of service (2 days per month between 6 and 12 months).

  • Sick leave

    Up to 90 days per year on a structured paid/unpaid schedule once probation completes.

  • Health insurance

    Mandatory employer-provided coverage in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
