Job Summary
- Our client is seeking a proactive and results-driven Business Development Executive to drive revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, managing client relationships, coordinating tender submissions, and supporting commercial activities within the upstream oil and gas sector.
- The ideal candidate will have strong experience engaging industry stakeholders, preparing winning proposals, and expanding the company's market presence.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales:
- Identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities within the upstream oil and gas industry.
- Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline while achieving assigned revenue and growth targets.
Client & Account Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Understand client requirements, identify cross-selling opportunities, and coordinate internal teams to deliver tailored solutions.
Tender & Proposal Management:
- Monitor RFQs, RFIs, ITTs, and RFPs, and coordinate the preparation and timely submission of compliant technical and commercial proposals.
- Maintain accurate tender documentation and track bid outcomes to improve future submissions.
Market Intelligence & Opportunity Identification:
- Conduct market research, monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and upcoming projects to identify new business opportunities.
- Provide regular market intelligence to support strategic business decisions.
Commercial & Cross-Functional Support:
- Prepare quotations, capability statements, presentations, and commercial documentation.
- Collaborate with Technical, Operations, Finance, Procurement, and Legal teams to ensure successful project acquisition and execution.
Reporting & Compliance:
- Maintain accurate CRM records, prepare business development reports and sales forecasts, and ensure compliance with company policies, client procurement procedures, and Nigerian Content Development regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Professional membership in relevant bodies is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 3 – 5 years' experience in Business Development or Sales within the upstream oil and gas industry.
- Experience working with International Oil Companies (IOCs), indigenous operators, or oilfield service companies is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of tendering processes, proposal preparation, and commercial negotiations.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and CRM/ERP systems.
- Ability to represent the organization professionally with clients, regulators, and industry stakeholders.
