About the Role
We are seeking a Mid-Level Category Manager to join our team in Dubai. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the product line for Careem Groceries. You will design and implement the go-to-market strategy while ensuring alignment with our overall business goals. This position requires a strong background in the grocery industry and excellent negotiation skills.
Responsibilities
- Build and lead the product line for Careem Groceries to enhance market presence.
- Design the go-to-market strategy to effectively launch new products.
- Maintain the selection strategy in line with department and business objectives.
- Identify and source key consumer trends in online grocery and Q-commerce.
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive prices and quality products.
- Collaborate with merchandising and supply chain teams to optimize operations.
- Maintain relationships with suppliers through regular business reviews.

- At least 5 years of experience in the grocery industry.
- Experience negotiating with FMCGs or brand owners to achieve favorable terms.

Statutory benefits (UAE)
Wage Protection System (WPS)
Current-month wages must be paid via WPS no later than the 1st of the following Gregorian month. Establishments must transfer ≥85% of total wages by the deadline (Ministerial Resolution 340/2026).
End-of-Service Gratuity (EOSB)
21 days of basic salary per year for the first 5 years; 30 days per year thereafter. Allowances are excluded from the calculation.
Annual leave
Minimum 30 calendar days per year after the first year of service (2 days per month between 6 and 12 months).
Sick leave
Up to 90 days per year on a structured paid/unpaid schedule once probation completes.
Health insurance
Mandatory employer-provided coverage in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
