Job Description
- An Accountant is responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial reports, monitoring transactions, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the organization’s financial decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Record and maintain accurate financial transactions.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable.
- Prepare bank and other account reconciliations.
- Monitor income, expenses, budgets, and cash flow.
- Prepare invoices and process payments.
- Assist with payroll and tax-related activities.
- Maintain proper financial documentation and records.
- Assist with audits and provide required financial information.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, tax regulations, and relevant standards.
- Identify discrepancies and resolve accounting errors.
- Provide management with financial analysis and advice.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g.,ICAN/ACCA) is an advantage.
- 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience, depending on the position.
- Good knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Experience using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Understanding of taxation and regulatory requirements.
- Strong numerical and analytical ability.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
